My Coaching philosophy is to provide individual attention and instruction on all aspects of your game.
With over 36 years of golf coaching experience, I have been exposed to many different coaching theories and methods.
I recognize that everyone has different physical attributes and abilities and I accommodate these in all of my coaching.
When I was younger I was fortunate to have been coached and influenced by Alec Mercer (also coach of David Graham and Steve Elkington). Alec used to say to me “Brian, you will spend half of your life trying to learn golf’s basics and you will spend the other half forgetting them….”
My teaching style is friendly, simple, patient and positive. Golf can be a difficult game and it is my job to make learning it as simple as possible. I change the absolute bare minimum in your golf swing to achieve the best result possible for you.
Of course not everyone has to change their golf swing to lower their golf score. I come up with very simple strategies for you to implement to achieve a lower golf score.
My goal as a golf coach is to assist my pupils with furthering their golfing skills and their enjoyment of the game.
Brian’s Formula For Success…..
1. SIMPLE ADVICE + PRACTICE = IMPROVEMENT
2. SPEND TWO THIRDS OF YOUR PRACTICE TIME ON YOUR SHORTGAME.
3. GET OFF THE GOLF RANGE AND SPEND SOME TIME ON THE GOLF COURSE.
In my teaching I combine swing drills, training aids (usually home made or everyday items) demonstrations and video analysis give my students the chance of on going improvement.
